Designed to invoke the spirit of exploration and discovery, this project is designed to support a future research lab and workplace tenant improvement build-out. The modern glass façade with crisp aluminum overhangs and trim provides an exciting and dynamic architecture that embodies a sense of forward movement appropriate for its context adjacent to the airport and transit corridors, gateway to Silicone Valley as well as its function of innovation and discovery. Within easy walking distance from the Transit Center and Millbrae’s downtown, the project will contribute to the vibrancy of the new adjacent Form4 designed The Gateway at Millbrae Station workplace and economic center enhancing the lives of the residents and the region by spurring research, employment and innovation. The project’s location along the Caltrain and BART corridor, directly off Millbrae Avenue reinforces the sense of destination point and arrival that the Transit center and current Gateway projects create, while encouraging walking and connection to the community. A generous and inviting 2 story entrance lobby is positioned to be immediately seen by the transit commuters arriving from the Transit Center. The lobby is connected to a full height central atrium bringing in natural light and creating a gathering space for collaboration and celebration within the building. Generous exterior balconies create the opportunity for greenery and outdoor spaces that will further activate the building within its context.
