This club provides a resort experience within an established residential neighborhood. As a carefully choreographed assembly of suave forms, the club rests on a flat site with an abrupt 15-foot grade change. A richly landscaped boulevard leads toward the entrance and ends in a foreground plaza, where an abstracted bell tower guides visitors to the main threshold, punctured on an elliptical volume. Inside the volume, the vast, sensuous entry features a double-height lobby and an orchestrated display of convex/concave silhouettes, all functionally driven and remarkably consistent with the design language that informs the exterior. From there begins a progression of spaces that expand toward a vista of pool decks and mountains.
The highly formalized open areas pour onto gentle level changes and delineate distinct sectors for communal exchange. The gym, half underground, allows for visual connectivity to the outdoor areas furnished with an assortment of luxurious amenities. Round lights in the lobby and Solan Hoffen limestone designed and selected by Orlando Diaz-Azcuy Design Associates confer a centrifugal trait to the sensuous interplay of the cylinders all pointed toward the majestic staircase. From the top entry level to the downstairs areas where the gym is positioned, to the connecting corridors looking outward, the complex continually looks to nature as the constant of the architectural experience.
